Weifang launches four new domestic shipping services

Shandong port city of Weifang has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Port Group launching four new domestic container shipping routes.

According to the agreement, Weifang and Shandong Port Group will establish long-term cooperation relationship to jointly work on port resources consolidation, sea-river combined transportation, ro-pax shipping routes development and infrastructure construction.

The four new services of Weifang-Yantai, Weifang-Rizhao, Weifang-Jinzhou and Weifang-Fujian will bring around 100,000 teu container volume to Weifang port, and expand its shipping service connection to Pearl river delta. 

Weifang is the fourth city in Shandong province to establish cooperation relationship with Shandong Port Group after Zibo, Qingdao and Weihai.

Shandong Port Group, which has integrated the major ports in the province, including Qingdao Port, Yantai Port, Rizhao Port, and the Bohai Bay Port Group, plans to deepen the comprehensive cooperation with 16 cities to form a port and city complex to boost the local port economy.
