World’s largest containership HMM Algeciras transits the Suez Canal

The world’s largest containership the 24,000 teu HMM Algeciras has transited the Suez Canal on her maiden voyage from Asia – Europe.

Korean shipping HMM has posted pictures of the 23,964 teu HMM Algeciras transiting the Suez Canal on its LinkedIn page. Its next port of call will be Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The vessel was named last month at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in Korea, and started its maiden voyage in late April from Qingdao, China. A video of the start of its maiden voyage from China can viewed below.
