Austal large crew boat paying dividends for Caspian Marine Services

The Rashid Behbudov is a 70 metre, all-aluminium, high-speed catamaran with an Ampelmann heave compensated gangway that enables “walk to work” capability and has been in service with the company for 12 months.

“The Austal-built Rashid Behbudov has been in service with Caspian Marine Services for over a year now. We have had excellent customer feedback and recognise the integrated continuous walk to work system is the new industry benchmark for safety and comfort in crew transfers,” Carl Rolaston chairman of CMS said while at Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats Middle East in Abu Dhabi.

Austal Middle East vice president Michael McCourt added: “Rashid Behbudov was designed by Incat Crowther and built by Austal to offer a new benchmark in offshore crew transfer capability and the vessel has certainly delivered a more efficient, economical, safer and more comfortable experience for crew and passengers.”

The Rashid Behbudov is part of Austal’s Offshore Express range. The shipbuilder won the AUD44.5m ($34.5m contract to build the sister ship to CMS’ Muslim Magomayev in June 2015 and construction was completed in just over 12 months at its yards in Australia and the Philippines.

Austal is exhibiting at Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats Middle East 2017, in Abu Dhabi from 25 to 27 September.
