Seafarer rescused four days after barge capsize off Singapore
One of five missing seafarers from the barge Heng Hong 168 that capsized off Singapore was found alive after four days adrift at sea
Indonesia’s Tanjung Uban Port Authority said the crew member was found drifting alive off Bintan Island at 0920hrs on Sunday. He was recused by the Indonesian coastguard and sent to hospital.
The Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said search and rescue operations for the four remaining missing crew continued.
Six seafarers were rescued from a life raft by the Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG) on 19 December morning after the Bolivia-flagged barge capsized about 3nm west of Horsburgh Lighthouse in Singapore waters.
