At stand C05-17, Danish safety company Viking is demonstrating a new high-visibility immersion suit for seafarers, designed for ship emergencies in extremely cold conditions.

The PS4170 immersion suit, tested in the North Sea, features waterproof GORE-TEX Pazifik outer material and durable thermal lining to keep stranded seafarers warm, while its bright yellow exterior aims to increase the chances of rescue in difficult-to-spot situations.
The suit is the latest in the group’s range of safety equipment, which includes rafts, life-jackets, and other specialised ship safety equipment.
The group will also be discussing its servicing contracts, which, according to a statement, is “based on the concept of fixed prices and centralized, single-source servicing for multi-brand safety equipment”.
“For shipowners, there’s plenty to be gained from placing as many as possible of their safety equipment compliance tasks as possible with a single supplier,” said ceo Henrik Uhd Christensen. “That requires, of course, that there is a global supplier with all the capabilities needed under one roof. We have worked to build this position in the marketplace – and shipowners can expect further additions to the ways in which we can help them in the future.”
