Norway-based Arriva Shipping ordered another bulk carrier from the Chinese company Dayang Offshore Equipment.

The 7,500 dwt bulk carrier, measuring in 119.9 meters long and 17 meters wide, equipped with the high-efficiency engine provided by MAN, will be able to meet all the requirements of Tier III engine regulations.

“The renewing contract from Arriva Shipping will further expand Dayang’s influence in middle and small size multi-purpose vessel construction market in North Europe,” said Dayang.

Focussed on Northern European transportation, Arriva Shipping currently owns and operates eight self-discharging dry cargo vessels of between 1,900 and 7,200 deadweight tons, and employs around five to 10 more vessels on timecharter or commission.

In December 2022, Dayang inked one plus one 7,500 dwt bulk carriers order with Berge Rederi, which had one such vessel delivered and one under construction at Dayang.
