The Liberian-flagged vessel was named by Vale International director Gurinder Singh, in a ceremony attended by MOL president Koichi Muto and president of the recently formed Japan Marine United Corporation, Shinjiro Mishima.

Ore Salvador will become the seventh of MOL’s 300,000 dwt-class bulk carriers.

In a effort to stabilise its earnings MOL is seeking to reduce its exposure to the spot market taking on more long term charters.
