Precious Shipping in $198m bulker order

Precious Shipping is splashing out $198m on eight bulker newbuildings in China.

Bangkok-based company has contracted Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering to build four 39,000 dwt and four 64,000 dwt at total cost of $197.67m.

The vessels are due to be delivered between July 2015 and May 2016.

The newbuildings will be Singapore-flagged and will bring Precious Shipping’s fleet to 56 vessels including eight other vessels yet to be delivered.
