Precious Shipping sells handysize to scrapyard for $1.51m

Bangkok-based Precious Shipping has sent one elderly handysize bulk carrier to the scrapyard at a price of $1.51m.

The 1996-built, 27,079-dwt Chalothorn Naree was delivered to the scrapyard on 26 July.

The sale of the bulker carrier is “in accordance with the company’s strategy to rejuvenate its fleet by selling its older vessels and acquiring younger and bigger vessels”, Precious Shipping announced to the Thai stock exchange.
