The boarding was announced by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), which also confirmed that there was no signs of pollution from the vessel, which is resting stable at a 45 degree list.

A 200 m exclusion zone is in place around the ship, as well as a 1 mile, 2,000 foot air exclusion zone.

The Höegh Osaka was grounded by its pilot and master as the ship developed a severe list on Saturday evening, shortly after leaving the port of Southampton. The ship is not resting in a shipping channel, and vessels transiting the Solent are therefore not impacted by the incident, the MCA stated.
