The newbuilding bulkers, consisting of two 84,000 dwt vessels and two 81,600 dwt vessels, will be handed over to Scorpio Bulkers from 2015.

Wisdom Marine announced on Monday that it has sold the newbuildings, built at Japanese yard Imabari Shipbuilding, to Scorpio Bulkers for an estimated profit of $8.73m.

Late last month, Scorpio Bulkers has sought to raise $300m through a private placement to partially fund its newbuilding programme.

Meanwhile, Taipei-listed Wisdom Marine revealed that it has signed a contract with another Japanese yard Tsuneishi Shipbuilding to construct one 81,600 dwt bulk carrier valued at $31.5m and two 35,300 dwt bulkers priced at $23.45m each. Delivery dates for the newbuildings were not disclosed.
