Wisdom Marine eyes a fleet of 100 ships by end of Q1

Taiwan’s Wisdom Marine is aiming to expand its fleet to 100 by the end of the first quarter, after it added a new 55,000 dwt bulker to its fleet on Tuesday.

The dry bulk shipowner announced to the Taipei Stock Exchange that the newly-built bulker, Amis Elegance, was delivered from Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries on 27 January.

The eco-friendly bulker will be on long term charter to an European shipowner.

At the end of last year, Wisdom Marine boasted a fleet of 94 ships, and it expects to take delivery of 15 new units this year, with three of them slated to be sold.
