Oldendorff Carriers has revealed fleet expansion through both newbuilding orders and secondhand vessel acquisitions.

The shipowner has ordered two 63,000 dwt ultramax bulkers from Dalian Cosco Kawasaki Ship Engineering Co Ltd (DACKS) for delivery in July 2022.

The Kawasaki eco design newbuildings will feature Masada/Mitsubishi cranes, bollards for the New Panama Canal, an Erma First ballast water treatment system, and a Hudong-MAN-B&W 6S50ME-B9.3 main engine.

Oldendorff has also acquired two 93,000 dwt post-panamaxes that were built in 2012 in China, from an undisclosed owner and to be delivered in April this year.

Meanwhile the company’s last two Newcastlemax newbuildings, Heide Oldendorff and Hauke Oldendorff will be delivered from Hantong Shipyard in August and October/November this year.
