Wah Kwong Ship Management has two bulk carriers to its fleet, and expects further growth this year.

Capesize bulk carrier Tiger Shandong was taken over by Wah Kwong’s ship management team at Shan Hai Guan shipyard on May 25 as the 58th vessel in the Wah Kwong fleet.

Tiger Shandong closely followed the company’s 57th vessel CS Nan Jing, another capsize which joined the Wah Kwong managed fleet on May 25 from Qingdao Beihai shipyard.

Wah Kwong told Seatrade Maritime it has 58 ships currently under management, eight of which were taken over this year. The company expects eight more vessels to join its management fleet in the next 12 months. Wah Kwong’s newbuilding supervision team is working on 12 newbuilding ships across VLGCs, VLCCs and bulk carriers in five shipyards in China, it said.
