API Marine introduces new tank level radar

API Marine introduces new tank level radar
Denmark’s API Marine has introduced its new API Tank Level Radar – TGD-R, a tank gauging devise radar, to expand its portfolio of integrated API Smart Cargo Control and Automation systems for tankers.

The new API Tank Level Radar – TGD-R is developed using the company’s own patented level sensors based on unique acoustic technology.

The latest system operates on 26GHz high-frequency and can measure up to 35m. Furthermore, the antennas and the microprocessor have been optimised for conducting high-speed signal analysis, which enables them to be used in very complicated measuring environments such as chemical and product oil cargo tanks.

“The new API Tank Level Radar – TGD-R is a valuable extension of the API Marine Sensor portfolio, and will strengthen our position in the chemical and oil tanker market,” commented Sven Egelund Rasmussen, partner and managing director of API Marine.

The API Tank Level Radar – TGD-R can be delivered as standalone level sensors or as a part of Integrated Cargo Control System.

The company added that API Tank Level Radar – TGD-R meets all requirements for marine use in harsh and extreme environments, and works well with the API Multifunction TGD level gauging device for accurate level measurement.

API Marine will officially launch the new product at this year’s SMM show in Hamburg, Germany at its exhibiting booth located at Hall B6 Stand 212.
