Becker exhibits 1,000th Mewis Duct

Once transported from the show, the 1,000th Duct will be fitted to a 22,000 cu m LPG carrier, where it will be used to improve the quality of inflow into the propeller.

The company boasts that use of all its previously sold ducts has already lowered ship CO2 emissions by more than 1.4m tonnes.

The duct is presented alongside Becker’s other pre-propeller nozzle, the Twisted Fin, as well as Becker’s high-performance rudders with manoeuvring systems, the largest ever of which, measuring approximately 80 sq m, is being fitted to a 19,200 teu container ship.
