False alarm as 'crashed plane' turns out to be vessel under tow
Spanish media outlets mistakenly reported a plane crash two miles off the island of Gran Canaria at 11:25 local time, which turned out to be a vessel under tow.

Initial reports of a downed aircraft from emergency staff in the Canary Islands turned out to be erroneous. The confusion was cleared up after Spanish airports association AENA established that the two vessels were mistaken for a crashed plane.

So far, no casualties have been reported.
