First European-built LNG bunker tanker makes maiden delivery voyage
The first European-built LNG bunker tanker has made her maiden voyage delivering LNG to a terminal in Ora, Fredrikstad in Norway on Thursday.

The 5,800 cu m bunker tanker Coralius, on long term charter to Skangas, was loaded with LNG from Skangas’ own production facility in Risavika, Stavanger.

Earlier this month, Skangas took delivery of the vessel from its previous owners Anthony Veder and Sirius Shipping.

“We are very content with further developing the marine LNG availability in Northern Europe by our new ship Coralius,” said Kimmo Rahkamo, ceo of Skangas.

“We look forward to serving our existing and new customers wherever they need LNG by ship-to-ship. Today the technology and ship engines are sound for gas and we are more than ready to supply it by our supply chain,” he said.

The bunker tanker, built by Royal Bodewes, is equipped with state-of-the-art LNG transfer equipment onboard.
