Greece’s only LNG terminal set for expansion
Athens: Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DEFSA) has awarded class society Rina Group a contract for preliminary feasibility study and basic engineering design on a Greek LNG terminal at Revithoussa.

The only LNG terminal in Greece, Revithoussa terminal is to expand its cryogenic facilities, which will boost the gas send-out rate to 1,400 cu mtr per hour. Currently, the terminal handles 0.68bn cu m of gas per year, and consists of an import jetty, two full containment storage tanks, plus one under construction, re-gasification equipment and send-out facilities.

Angelo Lo Nigro, Rina Group Energy Manager, says, “Rina has been chosen for this vital expansion project because of our expertise with gas, and because of our ability to draw on multiple skills and competences within the Rina Group.”
