Klaveness exits bulk shipping business with sale of kamsarmax
Norway’s Klaveness has exited the dry bulk shipping business with the sale of its last kamsarmax bulker to Asian interests.

Klaveness took delivery of the vessel MV Bavang from the shipyard in February this year and it was one out of an eight order deal entered into in 2013/2014.

Six of the orders have been sold with a profit, while one order was cancelled, Klaveness stated.

After the latest sale of MV Bavang, Klaveness no longer owns any standard bulk vessels.

“The vessel was a non-core investment and in order to support the growth in our specialised segments, we decided to sell the vessel,” said Lasse Kristoffersen, ceo of Klaveness.

The shipowner said the sale is not expected to have any profit and loss effect on its financials.
