LR launches Safety Accelerator initiative

Funded by charitable body Lloyd’s Register Foundation, the programme will encourage technology companies and industry to work together to test innovative digital solutions to critical safety and risk challenges.

"The Lloyd’s Register Safety Accelerator programme is designed to open up the safety and risk marketplace to support and encourage more digital companies into the sector,” says LR’s chief technology officer Nial McCollam (pictured).

LR will work with clients and key industry players to identify areas of operation with the most significant challenges to safety and risk, beginning with human safety on-board.

Technology businesses seeking an application for existing digital solutions will be invited to apply for funding to trial these products in an industrial environment through the accelerator collaborators, beginning next summer.
