Maersk finance and strategy chief quits as it accelerates business transformation

AP Moller – Maersk's head of finance, strategy and transformation is leaving the group as the shipowner plans to split the roles to accelerate business transformation.

Jakob Stausholm currently chief finance, strategy and transformation officer and a director of AP Moller – Maersk has decided to leave the group the Danish shipping company. He will step down from the board by the end of March.

The role will divided into single finance function and functions focused on IT, strategy, digital and transformation. The new IT role will report directly to AP Moller -Maersk ceo Soren Skou as the company moves to accelerate its business transformation.

Skou commented on Stausholm's departure: “He has led the first part of our digital transformation and has done a great job in driving our strategy and managing the cfo-areas. I would like to thank Jakob for a good partnership and his contribution and I wish him all the best in the future.”

No executives were named to take up the new roles.

“Digitalisation is changing our business model and the way in which we drive and implement our strategy. With this organisational change, we expand our management capacity within digitalisation to accelerate the transformation,”said Jim Hagemann Snabe, chairman of the Board of Directors, AP Moller - Maersk.
