Under the contract MSS will be responsible for engineering, project planning and managing the scope of the subsea decommissioning of the subsea field.
The project will employ 10 vessels covering anchor handlers, platform supply and subsea support vessels. MSS is lead contractor on the project and has employed three sub-contractors supporting the engineering, ROV work, and waste management aspects. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018
“With the award of the Janice contract we are able to demonstrate that, together with our project partners, we can offer an innovative approach that provides an end-to-end work scope to our customers,” Jørn Madsen, ceo of MSS.
“We see good potential for this service in the decommissioning market," he added.
Decommissioning is seen as one of the few growth areas in the offshore marine business which has been hard hit by the low oil price.
