Maritime security firms Neptune and Port2Port to merge

Maritime security firms Neptune and Port2Port to merge
Maritime security firms Port2Port and Neptune Maritime Security are merging in a sector where consolidation is seen as “inevitable and necessary”.

The two firms said that the merger would provide “significant” advantages of service and scale as well as improving their global reach. Neptune, founded in 2009, and Port2Port set-up in 2011, have completed in excess of 3,000 transits in the eastern high risk area.

“Consolidation within our industry is inevitable and necessary,” said Andrew Varney md of Port2Port. “Therefore, we took the view that a mature and forward thinking but commercially informed approach was required to remain competitive and ensure the highest service standards in what is still a very challenging global market.”

Carl Sykes, md of Neptune commented: “We view the merger of Port2Port and Neptune as an extremely positive and dynamic step, enabling a greater scope of service provision and global coverage. We remain committed to protecting the shipping, marine and offshore industries and providing a first class service to our clients.”

Port2Port and Neptune are both certified to international, globally recognised standards and fully licensed by the UK Government.
