Navios secures charters for four newbuilds
Tanker owner-operator Navios Maritime Acquisition Corporation has secured charters for four newbuilding MR2 product tankers.

The first of the MR2s, expected to be delivered in the third quarter 2013, has been chartered out for four years at $15,356 per day plus 100% index-based profit, up to $20,475 per day. The base and ceiling rates for the charter will increase 2% per annum.

The vessel is expected to generate $3.2m annual base EBITDA for the first year.

The three other vessels, due for delivery throughout 2014, have secured two year charters at $14,319 per day plus 50% profit sharing. Each vessel is expected to generate approximately $2.8m base EBITDA.

The recent signings bring Navios' contracted out days to 92.1% of available days for 2013 and 60.4% for 2014 and the fleet's average charter length to 2.4 years.
