Peninsula Petroleum starts physical bunker supply in Barcelona
Marine fuels supplier Peninsula Petroleum has started physical supply operations in Spain’s Barcelona port, utilising the 7,500-dwt bunker tanker Alliance Spirit.

Peninsula Petroleum noted that while Barcelona is one of Europe’s busiest ports, the port faces seasonal shortfall in marine fuel supply capacity.

“We believe that there is a significant supply gap in the market in Barcelona. With our flexible asset base and powerful commercial platform, we can offer bespoke solutions that create valuable optionality for our clients, saving them time and money,” said John Bassadone, cep of Peninsula Petroleum.

“This move is part of a wider strategy of leveraging our asset base to provide regional optionality for our clients,” he said.

With the addition of Barcelona, the bunker supplier can now supply clients across multiple major Iberian destinations from Barcelona in the north down the coast via new operations in Malaga, both Gibraltar and Algeciras and finally into the Canary Islands and beyond.
