On Tuesday the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) said calmer window of weather should allow salvors to install two new pumps and for divers to inspect the hull.
“The salvors will use a dedicated helicopter to transport them to and from the ship. This helicopter is expected to arrive on scene this afternoon,” MCA said.
The plan is to pump 3,000 tonnes of water from the vessel, which continues to list at an angle of over 45 degrees.
Meanwhile a tug that was damaged in collision with the Hoegh Osaka in heavy weather at the weekend has been repaired and is back on the scene.
