The hull of the vessel will be delivered from Vard Tulcea in Romania, with the completed vessel to be delivered by Vard Søviknes in Norway in the second quarter of 2016.
According to Vard, the ship's design has a heavy focus on good sea-keeping and station keeping and will be fitted with a 250 ton crane, an ROV hanger, and 18 man saturation diving system to support split level diving operations down to 300 metres.
Harkand, a subsea inspection, repair and maintenance group, is the product of an Oaktree Capital Management-funded merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services (ISS), Andrews Survey and Veolia Marine Services.
