The VARD 3 06-design vessel, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, is due to be delivered mid -016, and is to be built at Vard Langsten yard in Norway, while the hull will be constructed at Vard Tulcea in Romania.
The vessel will be 157 m long, with a beam of 27 m and have accommodation capacity for 150 people.
The contract follows on from a similar deal two weeks ago, in which Vard agreed to construct a VARD 3 03-design Diving Support and Construction Vessel for Harkand Group, for just over NOK1bn ($163m).
