The two new contracts are valued at more than $100m, Vard announced.
The newbuildings are scheduled to be delivered from Vard Brattvaag in Norway in the third quarter of 2017 and the fourth quarter of 2017.
The DP2 class vessels, specially designed for crane operations and light subsea construction with intervention duties, will have a 120-tonne active heave compensated offshore crane with the capability to reach working depths of 3,000 metres.
In addition, both OSCVs will be prepared for two remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), which are deployed via launch and recovery systems in the ship’s sides.
