"A step forward" has yielded a range of individual products and design ideas, as well as a combined total concept according to Vard.
The project is the result of a collaboration between Per Ivar Selvaag, design agency Montaag and Vard business units Vard Acommodation, Vard Electro and Vard Design.
The concept design separates the cockpit bridge and operation deck, opening up space for client and crew. The captain gains a 360 degree view from the bridge, while the operation deck has a view on outside operations without disturbing the captain.
The SeaQ cabins are designed to increase the sense of privacy, dayrooms and socialising areas have also been improved to ease the transition from shore to sea for the crew.
The design focuses on safety, functionality, operability, cost optimisation, user-friendliness, fuel economy and environmental performance.
Roy Reite, ceo and executive director commented: “Seeing how highly competent Vard employees have worked alongside Montaag to develop creative and cost-effective maritime solutions for the future has been an inspiration. I am proud that we stay true to our values and continue to focus on satisfying customer needs despite the current market challenges. It is now more important than ever that we work closely together and deliver on our promise 'built on trust'."
