Chris Aversano appointed Global Maritime Club regional ambassador
Chris Aversano, President, Connecticut Maritime Association and Product manager, Q88 LLC, has been appointed as the first Americas Regional Ambassador of the Global Maritime Club – an international initiative created by Seatrade Maritime.

With this appointment, the Americas is the latest key geographic region to have an ambassador appointed for the Club that primarily aims to promote growth in regional maritime sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, Emma Howell, Digital & Marketing Director, Seatrade Maritime – part of the Informa Markets Maritime portfolio, said: “We are delighted to have Chris on board. He is an accomplished maritime executive with over 25 years of experience that combines practical commercial experience with an understanding of how technology impacts the shipping space. This knowledge will help progress the Club’s objectives to bring together members to network and proactively drive positive economic growth for their respective regions and the global industry.”
The Global Maritime Club is a key initiative bringing together senior management representing ship owners, ship operators and ship management and focuses on topical challenges and opportunities within the industry, including; how technology impacts the shipping space, the importance of digitalization, regulatory compliance and crew welfare among other topics.
As a private membership club, specially invited members can connect with one another through strategic networking opportunities, closed-door leadership roundtables and specially curated content. Together, the Ambassadors will work with members to tackle the challenges facing the industry, stimulate innovation and proactively drive positive economic growth.
In his first role as Americas Ambassador and as current Connecticut Maritime Association President, Chris will be networking with existing and prospect Club members at the 37th Annual CMA Shipping Expo & Conference which takes place from March 29-31, 2022 at the Hilton Stamford | Connecticut, USA.
The 3-day event features an 90+ speaker Conference, Commodore Gala Dinner, exceptional networking opportunities and an Exhibition showcasing 80+ leading maritime suppliers.
The interactive Conference is well known for its high-profile thought-leaders and in-depth discussion points. This year the agenda boasts 10 key topics including the State of the Industry, Decarbonization & Alternative Energy, Freight Markets, Digitalization, Finance, Salvage & Wreck Removal, Integrated Logistics and Finance.
