The DM100 VDR to be type approved and wheelmarked by BSH for compliance with the new IMO standard, which came into force on 1July.

The new VDR features software advanced protection (SWAP) technology where all programming and data configuration files are stored on a swappable memory card. This means that if the VDR fails the memory card can be removed and installed in a new VDR unit. The faulty unit can then be sent for repair when the vessel calls in port.
