Hong Kong delegation to showcase services at Posidonia 2016
The recently formed Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (HKMPB) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council will be part of the Hong Kong maritime delegation attending Posidonia 2016.
The delegation comprises Commissioner for Maritime and Port Development Joey Lam and members of the HKMPB, as well as other prominent maritime industry leaders from Hong Kong.
These include Frankie Yick, board member of Wharf and Modernt Terminals and LegCo member for Transport, David Cheng, honorary chairman, Credit Agricole Asia Shipfinance, Sabrina Chao, chairman, Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA), Arthur Bowring HKSOA md, Rosita Lau, Ince & Co partner, Li Lianjun Reed Smith Richards Butler partner as well as representatives from government agencies such InvestHK head for Industrial and Transport Benjamin Wong and Hong Kong Trade Development Council director, Service Promotion Jenny Koo, among whose prime responsibilities is organising the annual Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference in Hong Kong.
The newly established HKMPB is meant to help collaborate with the trade more closely in driving further growth and development of Hong Kong's maritime and port services. The mission to Posidonia in Athens from 5 – 8 June will be among its first opportunities for exposure to the Greek shipping community, including the Union of Greek Shipowners, Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and Cosco Pacific in Greece.
The delegation will also participate in a business luncheon co-organised by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and Hong Kong Trade Economic Office Brussels on June 6 to meet with business leaders from Greece trade, logistics and transport sectors, as well as maritime-related professionals in financing, insurance, arbitration and legal services.
The delegation will share their perspectives on Hong Kong's maritime development and their views on China's Belt and Road Initiative.
