Russian Maritime Register of Shipping exhibits at Marintec China

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is exhibiting at Marintec China 2015, with a seminar together with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shanghai “Opportunities and Prospects for Cooperation Between the Russian and Chinese Companies of Maritime Industry”.

RS will be demonstrating its range of activities, including a projects being implemented in partnership with the Chinese shipbuilding yards, include the construction of a new series of chemical tankers, project VHX503, at Yangzhou Haichuan Shipyard, tugs of arctic ice classes, projects ASD 3010 Ice and ASD 2609 Ice, at Damen Changde Shipyard, dredgers as per project TSHD2000 at Yichang Shipbuilding.

The projects also include repairs on semi-submersible mobile offshore drilling units (MODU) Polyarnaya Zvezda and Severnoye Siyanie, built in 2010 – 2011, started under the RS technical supervision at Yantai CIMC Riffles Shipyard. These MODU are self-propelled installations of catamaran type with two pontoons and six stabilizing columns supporting the topside structure. They are designed for exploration and production drilling of oil and gas bore wells up to 7500 m deep and can perform offshore drilling in water depths of 70 to 500 m. The repair is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2017.
