The Panama Maritime Review has not only presented and interviewed all the actors of the Panama Maritime sector but has also showed the developments of the Panama Canal since it was transferred to Panamanian administration 20 years ago and followed very closely its expansion.

Moderated by Seatrade Chairman, Chris Hayman, this webinar will bring together industry experts who can give the best oversight of the Panama Canal in 2020 and looking ahead to the next 10 years in its prime position as a conduit to maritime trade.

Sitting on the virtual panel with Chris Hayman will be Ricaurte Vásquez Morales, Administrator of the Panama Canal who took office in September 2019; Rasmus Jacobsen, Managing Director, Americas, Monjasa; Alexei Oduber, Managing Director, GAC Panama and Akira Kunimatsu, Executive Vice President, Head of LNG/Offshore, North & South America, of MOL (Americas) LLC.

“We cannot ignore the implications of the global pandemic in this discussion,” said Hayman. “The slowdown in global trade, the re-configuration of services, and a consequent reduction in transits for some vessel types have all impacted on traffic movement in 2020. We will look at the significance of these changes and how the Canal Authority responded to this unique set of circumstances.”

During the 60-minute session, sponsored by GAC and Monjasa, the industry experts will also look at: Climate change and the impact on water levels in the Canal; LNG: cargo for the future; The customer’s perspective; Bunkering flexibility and Oil demand and the tanker sector.

It will be a unique opportunity to have Dr Ricaurte Vasquez exposing the long-term water project to provide the waterway with sustainable and reliable operations.
