Named Mission Rasi, abbreviated from Row Around Singapore Island, the event will see two classic ocean rowing boats race around the island of Singapore for the benefit of all seafarers around the world.
A total of 12 rowers will participate, with each Mission Rasi crew having six rowers using one oar each, and a coxswain. Their target is to row non-stop to complete the 140 km circumnavigation of Singapore island under 24 hours.
The rowing event, taking place in April 2015, will coincide with the Singapore Maritime Week and with Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence.
