On 9 August, eight children of employees visited the NYK head office in central Tokyo, where they participated in two activity classes.
The ‘Family Day’ allows each child to gain a better understanding of their parents’ workplace, as well as encourages parents to shorten their working hours and spend more time in communicating with their family.
During the final event of the day, the children exchanged business cards with NYK director and senior managing corporate officer Yoshiyuki Yoshida and managing corporate officer Tomoyuki Koyama.
Many children said that they enjoyed taking part in the event, and one employee commented: “After getting home, we talked about my job, so the day helped to foster communication.”
The NYK Group said it will continue to make efforts to strengthen its human resources by recognising the importance of work-life integration and reviewing workstyles to make efficient use of time, as the company strives to help employees find a suitable balance between work and personal life.
