K Line and Chandris secure charters for LNG newbuild pair

K Line and Chandris' joint venture has entered into time charter contracts with BP for two newbuild LNG carriers.

Under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) and due for delivery in 2018, the 173,400 cu m vessels have "long term" charters that the owners expect will see the ships carrying LNG from the Freeport LNG project in Texas.

Management of the vessels will be handled by K Line, further terms of the charters were not announced.
