Bourbon orders three subsea ROVs from FMC Technologies

Able to carry up to 3,000 kg of special measurement or intervention tools to depths of up to 3,000 m, the ROVs are designed monitor operations and structures with high definition video footage, as well as installing subsea equipment, assembling production systems and taking measurements using its manipulator arms and dynamic positioning equipment.

The Bourbon ROVs will likely deployed in the Mediterranean, where three ROVs are currently operating for Eni; or West Africa, where five operate under contract with Total and Saipem for survey, maintenance and construction.

Bourbon plans to order three more ROVs by the end of 2015, amounting to 18, including 11 work-class ROVs.
