China Merchants Port and Tencent to set up intelligent lab

China Merchants Port and Chinese internet service provider Tencent signed co-operation agreement to establish smart port technology lab.

The two parties will research and develop digital assistants to provide digital services for port, logistics, trading and consumers. 

China Merchants and Tencent have developed extensive co-operation in various sectors. The latest co-operation agreement will use technology to promote smart port construction, explore innovation models and jointly establish a port ecosystem and platform, said Deng Renjie, chairman of China Merchants Port.

Meanwhile, China Merchants Port and Tencent will also develop unmanned trucks, intelligent port operations, port digital twins and technologies for related areas.  

Started in 2017, China Merchants and Tencent had established co-operation for information construction and further deepened the partnership for intelligent port construction last year.
