Improbable CEO Narula moves into maritime software with Spot Ship

UK-based maritime tech start-up Spot Ship has brought high-profile Improbable co-founder and CEO Herman Narula on board as an angel investor and board member.

Narula is co-founder ND CEO of London-based multi-national technology Improbable focused on the power of video gaming and the metaverse environments. Improbable is creating SpatialOS, a distributed, cloud-based platform for game development that integrates with and augments existing workflows, engines, and tools.

The role on Spot Ship’s board is Narula’s first outside of Improbable and he is participating in the start-up’s £2.5m funding round as an angel investor.

Spot Ship business is based around AI and machine learning solutions for shipbroking, chartering, ship operators and shipowners, a very different business to Improbable, if using similar underlying technologies.

Spot Ship CEO and Founder, James Kellett stated, “Herman has been a constant inspiration to me throughout the Spot Ship journey. His expertise in machine learning, simulation methodologies, and AI will be invaluable in enabling us to further our technology lead.
