MSC websites remain down, malware not ruled out
Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) main websites remained down on Tuesday following a network outage late last week at its HQ which could have been caused by malware.
In a series of statements posted on LinkedIn MSC said the outage solely affects its HQ in Geneva and was limited to one of its data servers affected some internal processes, MSC.com and MyMSC.
At the weekend MSC said it could not “entirely rule out the possibility of malware” as the cause of the outage.
“Our agencies worldwide continue to work as usual, all MSC departments, terminals and depots are serving customers regularly and cargo is flowing without interruptions,” MSC said on Monday.
The line’s customer can continue to make bookings via INTTRA and other platforms, as well as continue to place bookings via email or phone.
“Significant progress has been made to solve the network outage, and we are confident the issue will be solved shortly,” MSC said.
