The Nasdaq-listed company, which operates 17 Capesize bulk carriers and one Newcastlemax vessel, will use the Orca AI system as an additional safety feature, providing ships’ crews with improved awareness of their surroundings, alerting them to potential dangers, and reducing the likelihood of accidents.

The platform also offers potential efficiency gains by supporting navigational efficiency. The outcome can be a saving in fuel burn and fewer emissions as a result of a reduction in the number of speed drops and sharp manoeuvres.

The shipowner’s Chief Operating Officer, Capt. Aristeidis Lagos, commented: “Seanergy is pleased to partner with Orca AI to upgrade our fleet’s navigational capabilities. By implementing this cutting-edge technology solution, we aim to further improve safety and efficiency across our offshore operations, supporting our commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable business practices. Installing Orca AI’s platform aligns with our goal of optimising vessel performance and reducing environmental impact.”

Yarden Gross, Orca AI co-founder and CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Seanergy to our fast-growing customer base. Seanergy has a strong reputation for operational excellence, and we look forward to collaborating closely to leverage the Orca AI platform for enhanced safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.”
