We are now entering the second phase of MEGURI2040, a project led by the Nippon Foundation, aimed at creating a fully autonomous ship with a clear objective: the implementation of all autonomous navigation technologies developed during phase 1 by 2025. At the heart of the project, Furuno is committed to providing all the required technologies and sensors.

The program will focus on achieving this main goal through four key areas:

  1. Conduct demonstration tests using 4 different types of vessels.

  1. Standardise the technologies for future commercialisation.

  2. Strengthen our development process by further improving our simulation tools, risk assessment calculation methods, etc.

  3. Prepare society for this significant transformation and promote a promising industry.
