China's foreign trade hit an all-time high of RMB43.85 trillion ($5.98 trillion) in 2024, an increase of 5% year-on-year.

The 5% growth in international trade last year sees China remaining as the world's largest trader in goods.
According to the country’s General Administration of Customs, China's total exports grew by 7.1% year-on-year to reach RMB25.45 trillion in 2024 while imports increased by 2.3% to RMB18.39 trillion.
In 2024, electromechanical product exports rising by 8.7%, accounting for 59.4% of total exports. High-end equipment exports increased more than 40%. Key exports including electric vehicles, 3D printers, and industrial robots increased 13.1%, 32.8%, and 45.2%, respectively.
China's total import and export volume with the Belt and Road Initiative partner countries up 6.4% year-on-year, accounting for 50.3% of the country's total trade value.
China and Asean remained largest trading partners for the fifth consecutive year in 2024, with trade growth rate of 9% year-on-year, marking nine consecutive years of increase.
Bilateral trade with the EU, China's largest source of consumer goods imports and the largest export market for electromechanical products, up 1.6%, while the trade with the United States increased 4.9%.
