The Dutch authorities said on Tuesday that the vessel was at anchor at a temporary location 16 km from Schiermonnikoog and Ameland, and also has a line to a tugboat.

The condition of the ship was described as stable by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It said most of the vessel had been surveyed and there no indications of continued fire onboard. The Fremantle Highway is intact below the waterline.

The plan is to move the vessel to a port of refuge that is yet to be identified.

There 23 people on board the vessel, comprising 21 crew, a pilot, and a superintendent, when the fire broke out late evening on 25 July. One of the seafarers died in the incident, while several others were injured.

K Line, which chartered the vessel said of the 22 survivors all but two had been released from hospital by 30 July. The Captain of the vessel and the Pilot remained in hospital.

The Fremantle Highway is owned Shoei Kisen Kaisha and was enroute from Germany to Singapore at the time of the incident. The crew attempted to extinguish the fire but failed in their attempt and all 23 were evacuated from the vessel, some jumping overboard.
