Lavinia in Chinese seafood reefer jv

Greek shipping company Lavinia Corporation and Chinese seafood industry player Liaoyu Group are establishing a joint venture for the operation of new reefer vessels

The joint venture, based in Dalian, China, where Liaoyu Group is headquartered, will order two 11,000 dwt reefer vessels for the transportation of Liaoyu’s krill and other seafood products from the Antarctic region and worldwide. The vessels will also serve the Chinese reefer fleet transport demands  of Lavinia Corporation.

The jv could also to build a further two of the same type of vessels. 

Liaoyu Group is a top seafood processing company in China, which mainly provides and operates port facilities, cargo transportation vessels, ship management services, bonded warehouse and storage, as well as fishing and financing services.  

The two parties are in talks for the details of vessel design and choice of shipyard for construction.
