Poulsson takes the helm at Singapore Shipping Association

Esben Poulsson has been appointed as the new president of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) as Patrick Phoon stood down after four years in the role.

Poulsson, who is highly active in the Singapore shipping community, is also a vice chairman of the International Chamber Shipping (ICS). Taking up a two-year term as president on Tuesday Poulsson said: “As we embark on our voyage to take the SSA to a new level, I hope the Council and the members will continue their unwavering support for the Association’s vision and objectives. We will remain very committed to enhancing Singapore’s status as an International Maritime Centre and navigating the future together.

Outgoing president Phoon commented, “After 24 years in the Council, I leave with a touch of sadness, but I am happy that the Association has grown in stature into a force to be reckoned with!”

The SSA has 474 corporate members and continues to grow.
