The vessel, named RollDock Sky, will bring RollDock Shipping’s fleet to seven. RollDock Sky is the third such vessel purchased from L&T. The vessel will go directly into service after some upgrades.

After RollDock Shipping had earlier agreed to buy two similar vessels from L&T, but the two companies ended transaction deals in 2013. During recent visits to the L&T yard by RollDock Shipping, the latter said it was “impressed by the quality and progress” of the yard’s construction on a third such vessel and hence decided to buy it.

“We are very proud that despite the unfavorable economic times, we are still able to maintain the growth strategy of our business,” the heavy lift owner said.
